If I upgrade to W7 will I lose napster files?

Specs: Windows Vista
i am getting ready to upgrade from vista to windows 7. will i lose all of my napster files if something goes bad, or is there any way to back them up prior to doing the upgrade?

You should already be backing up your personal files. Any number of things can happen that will cause you to lose those files.

i am backing up "normal" files and do so on a somewhat regular basis, but it's my understanding that Napster files can't be "copied", to a cd, dvd or otherwise, therein lies the dilemma.

2010-2011 primarily, possibly some in 2009. all via a subscription to napster

Well, I tried the Napster site and all I found was a streaming service. I don't know what the terms of service and restrictions were when you downloaded the files.

I can't imaging you can't backup to another internal hard drive located in your system. Perhaps you can MOVE the files legally.
