D Dell 62- bit OS. Downloaded Internet Explorer 10 to see if it was faster.

You don't need to remove Internet Explorer, just install a good browser and don't mind the DoYouWantToChangeYourDefaultBrowser questions, it's still better than only using only IE. Occasionaly, there's a site that works better with IE than with other browsers (well, not too many), so don't bother to remove IE. Bill doesn't want to do that, because the code is mangled in the Windows code. He couldn't do it, even if he wanted it to. He would have to copy the open source of Linux, and redo Windows, to obtain that goal.

u-man. You didn't read the question correctly.

The OP wants to remove Internet Explorer 10 which is perfectly possible as detailed in the link posted by JohnW.

For your information, IE10 is always installed as an upgrade to IE 9 with Windows 7 and as an upgrade, can be easily removed reverting to IE 9 that comes as standard with Windows 7

If the OP wanted to remove IE per se that would have been a different matter but that was not the question.
