If it was shipped from most factories, a Factory Restore will wipe the hard drive and reinstall Home Premium as is was shipped. This is not to worry, since the upgrade key if you have it will convert it back to Ultimate (the key unlocks the features). If you have any personal files on the system, back them up to an external drive before you begin or you will loose them. Any programs you installed, including antivirus programs, will need to be reinstalled from downloaded installers or CD/DVD's that came with the programs.

The files to create the disc(s) are (or were) on the hard drive. You should have created the discs the day you bought the computer. You can no longer do that because the program needed to create them was wiped out when you installed Win8. You may be able to trigger a "factory restore" by pressing the appropriate keys at startup, but we'd need to know the make/model/model number of your computer.

Another thing you can do is try installing Classic Shell which bring back a "Windows 7-like" desktop, complete with the start button & start menu.

riider they did not mention a model. How do you know for sure the recovery is on the drive? L.O.L Anyway you can check buy getting a partition software. Easus is free download easus and try this.
It will show the partitions when you install and open easus. You will see a C drive. Right click that and make it inactive. If you see another partition maybe and I hope you see a D drive it may be lableded RECOVERY or somthing like that. Right click that partition and make it active. Then reboot now it boot to the factory recovery. I am not sure what brand this computer is so I cannot give you any more steps unless you let me know. And it is a good idea to backup your whole drive before you do anything I said.

If the recovery partition has gone you can download the Windows 7 ISO from this site: http://www.askvg.com/direct-downloa... and burn it to DVD. Then go to the HP/Compaq website and download your drivers from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...

OK Did you buy it brand new with Windows 7 Ultimate? Or was it upgraded from Home Premium to Ultimate? I have not seen and computers ina store that come with Windows 7 Ultimate that usually send the 7 Home Premium to the stores. But if the recovery is still their what I said should work. I tried it once on an extra drive and it went good for me.

it was premium ,excuse me,but yes it was brand new .and it didnt have any software with it.I hate not having the software. i heard that if i use recovery to factory settings. that [pc]it wont have any windows anymore and probably wont even work. after.I am obviously not a pc tech which makes this very scary because i am afraid of the unknown.
