Solved i pasted over a notepad file and would like to recover it

i pasted over a notepad file and would like to recover it is there a way it does not seem to be in the deleted files

Did you save the file after you changed the text? If not, just close Notepad and don't save the changes.

The file would still be in the same location unless you deleted it, but you didn't mention that you did that.

You're not clear as to what actually happened, but if you overwrote the file, you'll have to restore from backup. If you have one of the business focused version of Windows, you might have a valid copy of the file in Previous Versions.

i went to properties and simply clicked on an earlier date once i had it i saved it, thanks for the help though

You can indeed right click the file, select Properties, then select the "Previous Version" tab. Unfortunately it only works at odd times.
