You haven't mentioned which model laptop you have so all I can do is point you towards the generic method of restoring it as shown on Asus's website:

Andis there anything on the drive you would like to save - before you lose it all when you do a factory reset?

So often people forget about it, or don't know often that it's possible to copy personal files, photos, music etc. off the drive - before a factory reset. This even if the system won't work properly as it is.

If you mean Internet Explorer is playing up it would be worth trying some simple fixes rather than going to factory restore. Try this one:

Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset button.

If that doesn't fix it describe your problem a little more and maybe there will be a less devastating fix, such as the inbuilt "System Restore" which doesn't lose your own stuff.
