Do you live in an area that continues to use analog broadcasts?

In the USA analog channels are in the process of being converted to digital. In your area it is possible that has completely happened already.

I see that the tuner you bought is a hybrid, which I assume means both analog & digital.

The point is there may not be much use for the analog portion of that tuner. Did you Google for free analog TV tuner software?

Any software that will work is geared to the chip set in use on your card.

Drivers seem to be readily available on the net.

I will greatly appreciate your reply.

I'm in Sri Lanka. So basically here is only available analog channels.

Yes, I was able to download drivers for it.
And I have searched for analog TV tuner softwares in Google. But unfortunately, I was unable to find out good TV tuner software for my TV tuner.
Any way I have installed one software call "AVS TV Box". It is giving pictures perfectly, but can not get the sound.

Then I tried to configure windows media center for analog TV. But it wasn't work.

So can you suggest me a solution for that or any other good software for it.

VLC may be able to use it if you find the drivers.

Personally, I'd send it back. Who sells stuff without software?

I will appreciate your reply. Thank you.

Actually that seller has noted that they will not be providing softwares with it. But he mentioned that this will be working with Windows 7 Media Center.

But the problem is, I was unable to configure the Media Center for analog TV.

Hence I'm looking for another supported software for it.

WMC does not care about the source. It scans based on your questions in the setup.

Usb tuners stink also in reception. You have to be under 10 miles away with a clear site to tower.

Next time get a silicon dust. There are about the best but still not as good as a tv tuner.

Hello Anushka,

Maybe you should give gbpvr a try.
You can google it.

Good luck!

Did you see the part about signal strength that I wrote? OtheHill and the part about using WMC.

I use WMC everyday to record OTA from a tuner. It is easy and if you have Windows 7 is it all you need.

The OP is located in Sri Lanka. He stated that analog is still widely used there. That is what I was pointing out. The OP wants to record analog, not digital.

Yes exactly, I want to record analog TV signals from my TV tuner. Any way I have tried several times with WMC in Windows 7 to configure it. But all ways it is saying, no signals found.

I think, there is some wrong with way I configured it.

And, as I mentioned above posts I used some other softwares as well. So problem with them was sound is not coming even thought pictures are OK.

Thank you very much for all the reply. Hope some one will give me a good solution for my issue.
