Specs: Windows 7, ^6
I have a rather new Gateway computer, Windows 7, 64 bit, 6mg bytes of ram and I terra byte of memory. My computer hasn't been exactly happy. It got a virus, and I cleaned it, and now I downloaded a couple of Games from Big Fish Games, and my audio stop working. I don't know why it stopped, but it did.

Uninstall audio drivers completely and then install the driver that is working.

1. Click Start,type Device Manager in the Start Search box, and then pressENTER.

2. In the Device Manager dialog box, expandSound, video, and game controllers.

3. Locate the audio device that was included with the computer.

3. Right-click the device, and then clickProperties.

4. Click theDriver tab, and then click Uninstall.

5. Place a check mark next to"Delete the Driver Software for this device" check box, and then click OK.

6. Install the driver that is working.

7. Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Try just 1 to 4 ONLY in post #2 then restart your computer. This often fixes issues and is very easy to try. EDIT: It might save you downloading drivers - see #4.

If it doesn't help follow the whole of post #2.

System Restore, as already suggested, is another way forward but don't attempt this unless you have a restore point that is AFTER you fully removed the virus.

No, you have 6 gigs of RAM and a 1 terabyte hard drive. They are two totally separate devices.

I would suggest trying to reload the audio drivers. Go to Gateway's website and download the latest drivers they have listed for your system, then follow Derek's & Michel's suggestions. If you need help, post your model and we can provide a link.
