Solved i have a vaio laptop and it shuts off from time to time

Specs: Windows 7
I run windows 7 and when it shuts down I cqn restart no problem. I'm afraid only if I lose precious data from this problem that's all

Sudden shutdowns are often caused by overheating. The shutdown occurs to stop the components being damaged.

Investigate why it might be overheating. Check that that all the cooling vents are clear, they may be blocked or partially blocked by a build up of fluff. Use a vacuum cleaner with a plastic nozzle attached to suck all the fluff out of the vents. Do that every week.

Also, never use your laptop unless it is sitting on a solid and flat surface, not on your lap unless you have a flat board underneath it that's larger than the laptop's footprint. This ensures that air can circulate underneath the laptop.

Install HWMonitor to view the temperatures and voltages in real time. Post all the numbers after you have been running the laptop for a while. Get HWMonitor from the link below.
