i have a new cpu and mother board

Specs: Windows 7 64bit, intel Q8400 quad
i am using my dell hd 300gb but when booting i get a blue flash screen and then winows repair errors comes up on timer !!! then it cant fix errors and it reboots to the same screen !! do i need to load the os before putting in the motherboard drivers as that cd wont boot either or has my hd from dell got a lock on it ? please can you help

When you change the Motherboard, unless it is a very similar board with the same chipsets, then you will need to reload Windows (with a closely related board you may get away with repairing windows and the loading drivers). If all of your files are on the same partition as windows, they will be lost. If you can go back to the old board to back it up your data, then do it. If not then see if you can put the drive into another machine as a secondary drive and back up your files there. After reassembling and reinstalling windows, update drivers BUT you MAY have trouble activating Windows due to the major hardware change. IF you do have trouble now or when you do a Windows update, you may need to call Microsoft.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.
