I tried to start it in save mode and then click properties and then settings. but my comp don't give me the option of settings. pls help

Instead of choosing "Safe Mode" on the startup options screen, choose "Enable VGA Mode". In VGA mode, everything will look too large and low resolution but then you just need to re-install the correct display driver for your computer model.

You can download that from your computer manufacturer's website.

Monitors rarely need drivers these days. Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed & that you have the screen resolution set to the native resolution of the monitor, which is 1600x900 @ 60Hz.

I was referring to the driver for the graphics adapter, often referred to as the display driver. I was NOT referring to a monitor driver. If I was I would have said so.

Your post has achieved nothing except to probably confuse the OP by mentioning a driver that is irrelevant to the problem.
