but when i try putting my password in it says this feature requires removable media and that theres no drive and so i cant even get into my laptop atall

I'd say it's time to take it back to that person and start asking questions.

I would say if you trust the person you gave it to, take it back and get it fixed right.
If you do not trust them (aside from not taking it to begin with), you will need to completely explain what the original problem was, what they claim to have found and done, what make and model machine, and more details on what is happening, including exact wording on messages and errors.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
