You can't recover it, and we don't help with password recovery anyway.

You want to recover a network administrator password "without resetting or changing it"? Now why would you want to do that? Could it be that you don't want the rightful owner of that password to know that the account has been compromised? I can't think of any other reason why changing it would be a problem.

Most people would be happy to just reset the password to a known value (not that we are going to tell you how to do that either).

With all due respect John why would you assist someone to compromise the system, password help is not encouraged except in exceptional circumstances?

I'm not that judgmental Ewen, I still have the Microsoft link for XP. Probably the same help is available for W7.

How to log on to your Windows XP-based computer if you forget your password or if your password expires.

I think he's asking how to reset the router password, not the Windows password.

I'm also assuming he wants to know how to do this without resetting because its not his router, but a neighbors.

You're quite right John but I think in this instance THX 1138 is closer to the mark. This is purportedly his Home Network and he has forgotten the password something he must use on a daily basis?

"I think in this instance THX 1138 is closer to the mark"
Still only assuming Ewen.

"Forgotten the password" is certainly a warning sign, but "want to recover it without changing or resetting it" should be a flag to all but the blind.

Having said that, telling someone to Google is not exactly helping them that much.
