The real trick is, are you hopeing to get everything back or just be able to use the computer again?

Depending on the model, many setups allow for an on computer system restore which will allow you to use the computer, however may destroy data.

I would start by tapping f8 during startup and seeing if you are able to enter the advanced boot options, This might allow you to reenter the computer in safe mode and save the vital stuff if you have to do a restore. Also from there you may be able to repair the issue, or reset all of the system data(which will remove your personal files and the like)

"everything is gone"
Can you explain a little more please?
Does it appear to startup?
Do you ever see anything at all on the screen?
Can you get to the desktop and if so what is missing?

If you can describe exactly what happens or doesn't happen we might be able to come up with an appropriate fix.

For example, if you can get to Safe Mode as per #1 (or Command Prompt) we can try System Restore which will not result in you using any of your personal stuff.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Manual instead or automatic sounds like a BIOS setting. If you can get into BIOS set up, reset to defaults, Save and then manually check configuration (CPU, RAM, Graphics type, SATA, hard drive/boot order, etc). Save and exit.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Well you guys were right. I was able to restore most things. She did however get into the BIOS system. Things are still not running correctly such as when i am trying to open a file under microsoft excel for work it is bringing up an option to read the file with, however in all options none of them are bringing up words. It seems like it reading code or something. I still have not gotten everything running correctly yet and this is my only computer that i have for work. It is everything to me. On top of this it is running so slow. Thanks for all of your help.

In search type excel.exe
If it excel opens when you click it then search again but this time right click the file it finds, go to properties and note the path it finds. When you next get the "options" use Browse to go through the above path and set it to do this every time (check box).

Slowness can be all manner of things. Start by installing and running MalwareBytes (green icon at top):

If it finds anything then paste the log on here so that we can see what it found.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
