Are you trying to copy protected movies without software to remove the protection?

How exactly are you trying to burn movies?

What exact error messages are you seeing?

Doesn't sound like a hardware issue. You need to read the instructions for the burning software again.

If the drive burns other DVD disks then it is the software. You may be doing something wrong.

Why would your think the drive is at fault when it works with other disks?

What video format is your slideshow movie (IE, WMA, MPEG2 MP4, AVI, etc)?

How are you trying to burn the slideshow, are you just burning it as a data disc or are you creating a DVD movie formatted disc?

So do you get any errors during the burn process?

How are you trying to view the DVD, in your computer or a stand-alone DVD player?
