Specs: Windows 7
I scanned a photo & saved as jpg, I want to delete it, a box says need I need admin permission to do anything (can't move it, delete it, or anything). This never happened before tho I scan and deal with lots of jpgs on my computer.

Are you the only user on your PC? If there is another user, he/she has admin permission, just get them to do it or better yet to give you admin permission.

Try the simple things first. Close all programs and restart the machine, wait a minute and then try deleting it again.
This will make sure that there are no programs accessing the file, including the system indexing the file. I will also clear any tiny glitch or error the system might have picked up by reloading system files normally in RAM from hard drive versions of those files.

If that does not work, try this:

If that does not work, try this:

I have not tried it but I trust the source of it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Well, I did shut down the computer, Fingers (before seeing your response)--and this morning the offending jpg file was gone. It deleted itself? It decided in the middle of the night to obey one of my delete commands? It's not in the trash file, either.
You're right, the simple solution is often the best. Thanks for reminding me of that!
I copied your two links for help info, too.

Thanks, Maraba.
I'm the only user on this computer--that's what was discombobulating about the situation!
