That's a common problem (one that I suspect many IE9 users haven't discovered yet) and is one of the main reasons I don't use it. I first discovered the problem in IE8.

If your bookmarks backup is an HTML or HTM file, just install Firefox and import it into that. Then use Firefox instead.

Unfortunately, exporting bookmarks from Firefox as an HTM file won't help with IE9 because it won't import that either. Also, importing directly into IE9 "from another browser" is no help because that option is greyed out. Total crap.

I work in a small business

Thanks, but the reason for me even wanting to do this the user has certain websites they go to for business activities. Unfortunately, the website is only compatible with Internet explorer. Have tried using other web browsers like chrome and firefox.

Also, the user prefers internet explorer. It doesnt matter what I tell them. Im pretty much a janitor to them and clean up there messes.

I just was wandering if there was a fix for this. I have searched countlessly on the internet. Without calling Microsoft yet. I think I might have to.

I had the same problem. I found that making a new folder in the Favorites tab will let me save sites. I have no idea why it has this glitch, but this seems to be the only way around it.

Gotta love computers ...
