Specs: Windows 7
Initially it would start up with a Google window. Now that has been replaced by ASK. I want to
restore the Google window.

✔ Best Answer
Open Google Chrome
Click the three horizontal bars at top right.
Click "Settings".
Where it says "On Startup....", click the circle "Open a specific set of pages".
Click "Set pages".

Delete the existing Ask.com entry (click the 'X' at end of that entry).

Click in the "Enter URL" box and enter https://www.google.com/

Click 'OK'
Restart Chrome browser.

If the above doesn't do the trick try this free download (blue download icon top right):
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...

"Save" the file then double click it and do the Scan. You then have options but it is usually quite safe to run the Clean. If it finds anything please copy/paste the log on here in case further action is considered necessary.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Looks like you sorted it but it could still be worthwhile running ADWCleaner (see #2) because you might well have other similar things lurking on your system and waiting to create a nuisance.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
