My computer was hacked awhile back, so I wipe hard drive clean and did reinstall from scratch. Everything went fine, but weeks later I started receiving system not genuine notices. I did not use a fake code while installing, and was never ask for one. I could fix the problem for a while by deleting the update KB971033, and then another procedure. But, this last time that I received the not genuine notice, I could not find KB971033 in the downloaded updates. So, I can't get rid of the not genuine notice. Any suggestions? thanks,

"I did not use a fake code while installing, and was never ask for one"

So have you tried entering one?

✔ Best Answer
If the computer came with windows installed, then somewhere on the case (even inside the (removable) battery area, there may be a sticker with key for the version of windows shipped with it?

And/or that same key ought to have been included with original documentation.

Have you tried to find your product on the DELL support site?
https://www.dell.com/support/conten...

Enter your product tag and see where it leads to. There is also a way to chat with an agent. Maybe they can help you find or regenerate the product code of Windows 7

Now that you have the code, use it to install Windows 10. It's still free.
