Gee where did you guys come up with those answers?

kumar.praveeen search the drive for *.* [everything].

Then sort by date. What recently got added? What folder is it in?
Then sort by size. What is the largest file/folder sizes?

Hopefully either by folder or file name you can deduce what program is parking files here.

as I stated earlier i deleted the complete data from the hard drive. the dat was somewhere around 60 GB including all files in that drive.there was not even a single txt document left in that drive nor any6 hidden file, still 20 GB was consumed on that drive, then in order to get the space back i had to format that drive. Please suggest

You formatted the drive. There is nothing to troubleshoot. What is there to suggest?

this is probably hiberbation/page files etc you can set folder options to see hidden files and protected operating files, that might shed some light on the subject...
if its page/hib files etc you can set the amount of space used by following the system guides.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
