If you made a Windows 7 Repair Disk when the machine was new, you can use that to perform a System Restore from outside of Windows which might get you up and running without the drastic step of a factory restore/reset. You can also perform a Start Up Repair from the disk which depending on the problem, might also help. And finally, If you made an image of the drive as well as a regular back up, you can restore the drive image and then restore the back up and you won't loose everything.
If you did not (as you should have) made the Repair Disk, you can still make one from another working Windows 7 machine as long as both are 32bit or 64bit versions and use that.
If you explain more of the problem giving all details, we may be able to offer even more options to help you.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

✔ Best Answer
before turning on the machine depress the 0 (zero) key and turn it on still holding 0 down. That will bring up the recovery partition if there is one in tact.
