Ok, I don't understand the difference between Windows 7 and Windows XP . So I will get to the point, but does Windows XP games work on a Windows 7 computer ?

Most games and programs written reasonably recently as 32bit programs with 32bit installers should work in windows 7 (either 32bit or 64bit). Some older 32bit programs came with 16bit installers and these generally do not work, especially never on w7 64bit. Some programs and games can be installed and run under compatibility which more closely simulates XP or other legacy OS's and often helps. There will always be some that will not run, especially those written around the time of Windows 95, and those that took liberties with system resources like memory, etc. that for security or stability reasons Windows 7 cannot allow. Many of these can be run under a virtual machine that you install an old XP disk on and then install the program/game within this virtual XP.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

If you are getting a new system, get one built for gaming if you plan on any serious gaming. Quality components are important as well as sufficient graphics and CPU performance are what you need to look for.
