Specs: Windows 7
I have a Compaq presario cq62 which initially had windows 7 premuiml installed, but i reformmated it with a dell windows boot disk that was also installed on another computer, then i ordered the hp recovery disks from hp but when i try to install them an error note appears :

This pc is not supported by the System Recovery Disks
You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these discs.

Ive updated the BIOS and ive installed another copy of windows 7 to see if maybe it was the dell one that wasnt it allowing but still nothing. PLEASE HELP!!!

Two things. One is you needed some software on the hard drive for the disks to work.

Second is your disks are trying to protect you in a way. Boot to some media to delete partitions and try again.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
