Specs: Windows 7
i have a HP PSC 500 all in one printer. I also have windows 7. A while back I was able to configure it to work with my computer. I had to re-install windows and now my printer isn't listed. I bought the IEEE-1284 connector to make my printer go from parallel to USB. Do you have the driver for this?

If your computer did not come with Windows 7 you may need to install some additional drivers.

Since you didn’t list your computer model I can’t help you with that.

Go to the link below. Select the version of Windows in use. Click next and follow the instructions to use Windows update to install the driver.

If the additional software that came with the All in one will not install under Windows 7, you may need to install it using a Windows compatibility mode.

My computer did come with Windows 7. I have a HP Slimline. I was able to configure my printer before but it's been so long ago, I forgot how I did it. I have a HP PSC 500 which is a very old printer. I cannot even download any drivers. I bought a IEEE-1284 interface cable which converts the printer port to USB. Recently I had a system crash and my computer reset back to factory settings. Now that I have to re-install my printer again, I cannot remember how I did it the first time. When I go to install a printer. The IEEE-1284 icon comes up with a question mark next to it. My model does not come up in the printer options either. Can someone please assist?

Your adapter cable should be Plug & Play. I guess you could try installing manually. Go to Control Panel> Device Manager to see if the device is showing up there. If so, look at the settings. If not, then return to Control Panel> Devices and Printers> add a device. Then follow the prompts.
