Specs: windows 7, 597 MHz / 191 MB
HP Pavilion Slimline windows 7 will not communicate with Hp2009m monitor.
I have to unplug to turn off power to tower (only way to shut it down cause there is nothing on the monitor.) Sometimes I get lucky and after several times of unpluging /pluging it back in then turning it on by the switch it will give message to start normal or check computer. If I check computer it never starts windows but if I'm lucky and tell it to start windows sometimes it will come on and everything works great until the next time someone turns it off or there is a power outage. Have tried other monitors and always get the same results.

That's because the monitor isn't the problem, the tower is the problem. More than likely you have a bad power supply. Pulling the plug the way you've been doing will eventually damage something so I suggest you stop doing it. To shutdown, just press the power button, hold it & wait til it shuts off.

I certainly hope the specs you listed are incorrect - "windows 7, 597 MHz / 191 MB". There's no way Win7 will run well on a system that old & with that little RAM. XP wouldn't even run well!
