HP netbook Quickweb / Windows 7 problem

December 2, 2010 at 00:52:34
Specs: Windows 7 Starter, Atom N450
Up until yesterday Quickweb and Windows worked fine on my HP 210 series netboook. The netbook is set to load Quickweb immediately and Windows 7 automatically 15 secs after should no activity take place. From yesterday, either booting Windows 7 before the 15 secs or waiting for the auto boot after 15secs results in the netbook hanging - the screen goes blank, and the hard drive stops. To reboot I have to hold the power switch on until it witches off then turn the netbook on again whereupon it boots straight to Windows 7.

HP Quickweb are part of HP Instant On System (IOS). If the IOS was previously configured and QuickWeb worked properly but has now stopped working, the program can be reinstalled using the HP Recovery Manager as follows:

1. Click Start , All Programs , Recovery Manager , Recovery Manager .
2. Select Software Program Reinstallation , and then select Next .
3. Select HP IOS, and then select Next. The HP IOS program is now restored on the netbook
