HP hardware change windows installation??

Specs: Windows 7
ok I have a brand new HP windows 7 laptop, it has been working fine for 2 weeks now. Now all of a sudden this black screen comes up and wont let me restart my computer telling me that there is a windows installation error and I just need to insert a windows disc. I DO NOT HAVE A DISC, it never came with one:( HELP ME!!!:(

Try this, tap the F8 key constantly from a cold boot. See if a menu comes up and choose Last Known Good Configuration, or Boot Windows Normally. Try this first and then post back.

it didnt work:( i have like no idea what to do??? it says the windows Boot configuration data file is missing required information, and pressing F8 didnt do anything:(

Since it's only 2 weeks old, I would suggest you call HP. Messing with it could void the warranty. When you get it running again, you need to make a restore disk, then you'll have it. When you set up the computer the first time, it asked you if you wanted to make a restore disk. You should have done this, Good Luck.

i dont think i have a restore disk?? i will have to call the store i bought it from and see what they suggest. Thankyou for your help though:)
