Breast cancer awareness month?

I assume you mean only the background of the desktop has changed or do you mean every page is pink?

I think that the most easy starting place would be to try a restore point.

See help and support pages for how to do that.

I was keeping that as a last resort, but I may have to do that thanks

By the way, every application has a pink background to it, where it used to be white

It might be the monitor itself. If it's a PC try another one, or yours on another computer, otherwise try an additional monitor.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If every app has it then maybe a wire or connector is loose. Turn off power to all parts and re-check connectors and look for any damaged video cable.

Some kvm switches have two cables so you might be able to swap.

Restore point is what I meant. It is a microsoft way to go back in time. Points might be a day ago to as many as years ago. They are very safe ways to go back. If you aren't happy then you can go forward.

I restored to an earlier time when I did not have the pink, but upon completion,
it is still there.................................................I don't have another monitor here!

This is almost certainly a hardware issue, which is why restore didn't help.

It has to be either the monitor, connections or (less likely) the video card.
Borrowing a monitor would be a good start, or trying yours on someone elses computer if it is a PC. You don't appear to say whether it is a laptop or not.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

We are getting some terms confused. RESTORE POINT is not exactly the same as a restore to OEM state.

You have me confused a bit. You say you did a restore point? and at some time during the restore it didn't have this pink.

I think I'd boot to the Windows 7 dvd. Just boot to it is all I want you to do. I need to know if the images are pinkish then. If so then we need to go to hardware.

Did you power it all off and check connections? Might have to re-seat the video card too.

I suspect cable or monitor or video adapter.

Jefro

I think Lynda means that she restored to a time when there was "originally" no pink issue but the restore still produced pink.

The way I read the post is that we were all talking about System Restore.

Whatever, I feel certain this is a hardware issue (green missing).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I love you xoxoxoxoox
I unpluged the wiring and put back in and it is white!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are a life saver as I was about to take back to where I got it and it
would have cost a fortune for them to find nothing wrong with it

Good night and I sure am glad you were there for me....

Good news then and thx for popping back to let us know.

What you were probably seeing was a total loss of green. This produes a mix of red and blue (actually more like magenta rather than pure pink).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
