When I print photographs, landscape, one side has no boarder and the other has an extra wide boarder.

That's normal for landscape mode on inkjet printers when printing right up to the minimum margins. You have to remember that in landscape printouts, the printer can still only feed the paper through in portrait like it always does. This means the side margins of a portrait print are actually the top and bottom margins as it comes out of the printer.

An inkjet printout will always have a wider margin at one end because the feed rollers in the printer need a wide margin of paper to get a grip on so it can feed through properly.
