I recently upgraded to windows 7 today I had to reinstall it now I have a message \windows\system32\winload.exe I dont have the orginal windows xp so is there anything I can do

I believe that you need to undertake a clean install, there is no direct upgrade path from XP to Windows 7, see bottom half of this page:

you could do a factory restore that will use the hidden partition, and restore your machine to the day you bought it, providing that you didnt delete it when you installed XP.

Most HP and Compaq desktop PC's that ship with Windows Vista and XP do not include recovery discs, instead, the hard drive contains a recovery partition with the Operating System, drivers and programs preinstalled. This partition, in some models, is hidden to prevent it from being erased, but in most of the models it is visible although locked.
The system can be restored to factory settings through this partition by pressing F10 or F11 repeatedly while the PC is booting.
NOTE: If any of the hard drive partitions has been modified or aditional partitions have been created, it is possible that the recovery system cannot boot or the recovery discs cannot be created.
