My computer turns on and goes directly to a window that says Startup Repair (Startup Repair is checking your system for problems). I have let my computer run this check for over 24hrs and nothing is changing, it's still stuck on the same window.
press the power button for about 10 secs to switch off the machine, then reboot, tapping f8 choose last known good config, if that fails do the same again and choose system restore. i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
Did you recently make any hardware changes to the computer?
Mine does the same thing... Startup Repair refuses to work, Recovery, which on this model is evidently the same as startup repair, does not work, Restore to last known good config doesn't work... Will not start in Safe Mode, and If you try to start it normally, it appears to be doing it, but about 20 seconds later, before it gets to the login screen, there is an instant flash of a BSOD that can't be read it goes by so fast, and then it reboots... Seems a lot of CQ62s started this in the last couple of days; could be something with one of Compaq's updates? Not sure where to go from here to fix the trouble...
i hope to dear god this works. The computer (Which ahd Ubuntu installed alongside windows) Shows the orange screen then a choose your operating system screen.I selectwindows it loads to a system restore manager thing but it will only letb you run a command prompt from there.
