What model Dell do you have? Did the computer come from Dell with Windows 7 on it?

you will undoubtebly have something missing from the re-installation, and you will actually be disappointed with what you are left with. Unless you know what you are doing, if you are running Just windows XP be very careful as the website @ microsoft isnt sympathetic with your plight once the process has begun wont find you the items online microsoft site isnt automated anymore!!

Just make sure you really have all you need before you start. Otherwise you might be better off purchasing a new puter!! Good Luck!!

1- Did you try running Malwarebytes to see if you have an infection that yout AV missed?
2- Your Dell should have a recovery partition that you can access with one of the 'F' keys (dell support site can tell you which one) and if you tap that key while restarting your computer you will come to the recovery console. From there you will have the option of returning the computer to the same as it was on the day it was purchased (automatic wipe and reload of windows, drivers, and all of their annoying included programs). Then you will have to reinstall everything else you would like to have back on it. HOPEFULLY you saved any important files you will need to a flash or other external drive, just scan it with antivirus AND Malwarebytes before reloading them on your clean system. In the future, avoid downloading programs/games unless you trust the source.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.
