How to update my Phoniex - Award BIOS

July 20, 2012 at 14:12:26
Specs: Windows 7, 2.999 GHz / 3070 MB
How do I update my BIOS so that it supports VT-x Hardware Acceleration or is it too old because I have a 32-bit processor with an old Socket 478. I want to do this because I want to run Mac OS X as a virtual machine.

Your processor must support VT-x technology as well as having a BIOS that supports it. For Intel processors you can check here: http://ark.intel.com/

The website you sent says that my processor dos not support that technology, I could be wrong. I have a 3GHz P4 with HT.

Or my board could be too old to run that technology(I think it's from 97'), but it's weird I've seen people run Hackintosh on a P4, so some how it must be able to run that technology.

You appear not to have listed the manufacturer / model of the motherboard !

You appear not to have listed the CPU, there are several Socket 478 variants !!

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

You didn't list the CPU or motherboard. PT880-8237 are the chipsets the board is based on, not the board model. If there is a BIOS update available, it will be at the board manufacturer's website.
