Back in October 2010 I downloaded and installed windows 7 RC SP1. When I tried to uninstall RC SP1 I receive error Service Pack 1 for windows (KB96932) is required by your computer and cannot be uninstalled. I searched the internet but could not find any info on it except to do clean install of windows 7 . Anybody know of any work arounds to uninstall it and upgrade to final version without doing clean install of windows. I don't want to do clean install as I have alot of info on my computer.

If your OS were on one partition, your programs on a second partition, and your files on a third partition, then reinstalling your operating system would not be much of a problem. You can at this point shrink your partition and create a new partition for your files and move them over to the new partition. Your programs cannot be moved, so you will need to reinstall them anyway, but moving them between partitions is easier and faster than moving them to an external drive. This is one option.

Have you tried doing a system restore to a date before you installed the SP1/RC, it should return you to what you had without bothering your files.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
