There are some ideas here:
http://www.uninstallpro.com/uninsta...

Avoid the "Free Demo Download" because I can't vouch for it.

EDIT:
The encircled "Eraser Project" on there is misleading, you obviously have to select "ASRock-Instant-Boot". If you are not fussy about remnants just uninstalling it from Programs and Features might be adequate, or the Uninstall in the start menu. Either should stop it restarting.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Disable: http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/main...

Uninstall: http://www.uninstallapp.com/article...

NOTE: do NOT download the app shown in the above link. Use the program suggested by Derek instead.

"Use the program suggested by Derek instead"
Err...I'm a bit confused. I'd warned the poster off that one, maybe you meant your second link.

Unless you are sure, don't use any program until the situation is clarified. Just use the "manual" methods in #1 for now.

I didn't click on your link. I just glanced at it & for some reason thought it was for Revo Uninstaller. That is the program I was recommending he use. Sorry, gotta pay closer attention.

Thanks Derek - Instant boot doesn't appear anywhere on my computer - in the start menu Áll programs'' or through control panel Add/Remove programs - checked "show hidden files" - I did find the containing folder which had an uninstall app - which didn't execute. Seems to be embedded deep within the registry - which I'm not going to play with. I might just reinstall operating system on another hard disk and uncheck asrock instant boot in utilities installation

Your first link http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/main... takes me to the administrator level where I have selected disable many times - on each successive startup instant boot seems to enable itself again
