how to turn on system restore/shadow copy in

Specs: Windows 7
While trying to set up a broadband connection, a cox representative had my friend disable the system restore and all the help files. When I went to re-enable the system restore everything was grayed out as far as the options to turn it back on. Same thing with the help files.

Are you logged on with admin privileges?

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

While trying to find the answer to your problem, I discovered my System Restore
was turned off and I couldn't increase the Max Usage space for any Restore Points.
I would get the error 0X8007007B
I fixed my problem with help from Microsoft Knowledge Base.
This might help you.

I had 2 C drives listed and one said (missing)
Start - Control Panel - System - System Protection - If you have a C drive (system)
and it says missing - Click it to highlight - Configure - Turn the missing drive OFF
If it's not grayed out this part is for you.
If you have one C drive listed = Click it - Configure - Turn it on -
Set the Max Restore Space - Click Apply
