It is usually part of the webcam software.

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!

Open the Scanners and Cameras wizard by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type scanners and cameras, and then click Scanners and Cameras. Your device should be listed there if you cannot find it elsewhere.

This is a very brief "user guide/manual" for the model... It's not from Advent's site.. but has some useful things to know - besides how to enable/disable the webcam... See the Function Keys list...

I suggest you keep this link; and also copy the contents somewhere safe - off the system entirely (to cd/dvd ideally at least). Also print it out and keep safe as a reference item...

http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/advent/...

It includes how to restore it to factory status...

I also suggest you ensure you regularly copy/duplicate all your personal files etc. to external storage (DVD and/or another hard-drive. This to ensure that if ever you need to restore the system, or have problems with the hard drive.... your personal files are safe (for the most part) elsewhere.

and this from the Advent site itself...:

http://www.adventcomputers.co.uk/pr...

And they do appear to have reasonably decent help on-line resources...

Likely the complete user manual is there too...

Please do not double post. Doing so may result in both threads being removed. I removed your other thread on the same topic.

I asked a similar questions as the original was not answered correctly. This is because of some confusion in the original question. The answers presumed that I ment take a picture using additional hardware when I ment 'How to take a picture using the laptop alone'. Can I still ask this question?

The second link I posted above discusses the webcam operation - at least as far as the user-manual covers it…

And this another item from Advent's support/how to section…

http://www.adventcomputers.co.uk/pr...

You would likely use the one immediately above - only if having problems with your webcam? Wise to avoid going into the bios settings "unless" you have real and definite reasons/need to do so…So easy to tweak things inadvertently if not familiar with that area...
