Solved how to stop the default gateway is not available error

Specs: Windows 7
My network adapter keeps saying that my default gateway isn't available and windows troubleshooting keeping on trying to fix this issue but cannot fix it. my pc gives out a different ip address but once it hit the cable modem it changes it

Usually http://192.168.100.1 is all that you would need to access the settings (but I guess you already know that). Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear you are sorted.

Have you tried powering off the router for half a minute, or doing a full reset and setting it up again?

Any errors showing in Device Manager under Networks - usually yellow icons?

I suppose it could be your server playing up.

I think what it is that my internet adapter isn't letting the cable modem to be the default gateway an sad to say the only way to fix it would be to have a router (Update) getting a router from charter today so hopefully this will fix the problem on its own

Well having a router solved the problem ..the pc cannot find any issues now ..though i'll say this for whomever reads this thread that charter will not let anyone change any setting within their modem to gain access but all a person can do is pull up the modem menu an that's it ( http://192.168.100.1/Docsis_system.... I hope someone else has better luck in doing so ..
