how to stop program from auto updating in W7

Hi!
I have some applications that I don't want to be up-dated automatically and need help in doing so.F.Y.I -my OS is windows 7

This may have nothing to do with Win 7. The applications mainly do the updating themselves.

One thing you can do is, check the applications settings pages. There may be some settings that you can uncheck to stop them updating.

The other thing you can do is, disallow the applications to reach internet through your firewall, if you have one ( you should have one ).

Some applications install additional software for updating purposes. You can uninstall them separately.

Thanks Suatcini for your trouble but I wanted to know How to stop the software manager (where can it be found in win7) from accessing the internet by blocking Install shield agent.exe.

Did you try this?
1. Open Control panel and double click the Software Manager icon.

2. Goto settings, click the the name of any software from the list and select "Check for updates manually" – Do an apply all.

You can also use Firewalls like ZoneAlarm or Comodo to block agent.exe or completly uninstall the Update Manager but that’s not a recommended approach.

Thanks for your suggestion but the problem is That I cannot find the SOFTWARE Manager in my control panel for your info my OS is windows7.Please show me where to look .
