Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core i3-4005U CPU @ 1.70GHz
I want to delete google archived mail as from a certain date. How to show all archived messages in Gmail?

Looked around the Internet but all posts do not give me an appropriate answer. Have 5.59 GB used in "google drive storage" when I look with the command https://www.google.com/settings/sto... Trying all the suggestions in posts on the internet however I only get a list of 183 messages, which will never tally with the 5.59 GB used. So how do I find the others

"hoping they will reach"
Nope, what you see when you click on those links, is what I see.

Open up Gmail in your browser, take SS's & upload into a PM please.

Small steps for now, shall deal with your other items later;

Image Uploader ( I upload to Imgur.com for images & zippyshare for files. Neither need an account )

Hi again willem1933.

This is the message at the top of my Gmail.
Empty Trash now (messages that have been in Trash more than 30 days will be automatically deleted)

Click on Trash.
Placing a check mark in > Select, lists 330 emails.

What does yours show?

Hello JohnW

Thanks for helping again. As suggested found the Trash (in my Gmail called BIN) to contain 252 messages. Top line: "Empty Bin now (messages that have been in Bin for more than 30 days will be automatically deleted". The oldest message is from 23/09/2015. On the last list (3) there are there are the two message and at the top it says: "All 2 conversations on this page are selected. Select all 252 conversations in Bin". But what I want to delete are the ARCHIVED files, that I have been putting there since I was back from Africa in 1999. So these 252 messages stiil doesn't account for the 5.59 GB that are kept in Google's servers. If I can't access them they are better deleted, so as not to be found by e.g. hackers and that is what I want to do.

Johnw, After a lot of searching I managed to find the PM. Neither did I know how to send a file until I looked more closely at the follow up icons on top of the reply

Didn't know the difference between IMAP and POP3 and the difference between webmail and a mail client. http://www.howtogeek.com/99423/emai...

When I started years ago I just made an gmail account , not knowing how that configured. Now I have gone into the GMail settings and found that my settings are with IMAP.

Maybe it is better to change to POP3 and an e-mail client, like Thunderbird and then archive important stuff on my external storage, WD's terabyte "My Passport Ultra".

But that leaves the question how to selectively delete files that are archived on Google's servers.

Attached two screenshots, hoping they clarify what I want and hoping they will reach as I don't exactly know how to do that. I'll try

c:\users\willem\My Pictures\Google Drive storage.png
c:\users\willem\My Pictures\trash - BIN.png

Thanks for your help. A real teaching. I hope I finally got it. Here is the link to the images I would like you to see: http://imgur.com/a/3YUOo. Unfortunately I did not manage to upload the 4 SS's with zippyshare. I'll look if I can get into using it.

I think we have been talking about two different things.
1. is deleting files from the Inbox which is (picture 1)
and
2. is deleting deleting files from the Google account. Started with the capacity as in (picture 2).

Then went to My Google Drive, (picture 3) which has a total capacity of 17 GB and managed somehow to delete everything there, but don't ask me exactly how I did it.

Looked again at the available capacity after deleting et voila See picture 4

So in a nutshell - the clearing of the Google Drive has to be done there
