Specs: Windows 7
Currently my default mail application is on my local computer. How do I change this to a web-based service?

I may be wrong but I don't think you can actually do this, because it isn't a mail program that you are trying to use, it's just your web browser & that probably isn't recognised as a mail program. You can set up some webmail within email programs - for example Hotmail will work with Live Mail, but you are still essentially using a local program and that's probably the best you'll get.

download the NEW yahoo toolbar, make sure to put a check mark in for yahoo to be default mail when installing it.
After the installation you can uninstall the toolbar and you will still have yahoo as default mail in windows 7.
