How to remove ntvdm from start up in win 7?

Specs: win 7, 64 bit desktop
Hi I am getting ntvdm dos cmd prompt start up screens 3 times in Win 7 everytime it loads ? Is this normal or not & how can I remove it? Is it good thing to happen or bad? Thanks.

It's not normal.
I guess there is something in the registry runs, that causes to open a command prompt.
The registry run is just like the Startup folder in the Start Menu, but not visible at the desktop.
Therefore, one has to use Regedit or other tools, to check and maybe delete unwanted or suspicious entries.
You can use HiJackThis, to check all the startup entries.
You should use such tools with care and only, if you know what you're doing.

It's always a good idea, to have a full backup or better an image of the windows partition, so that you can restore your system within max 10 minutes and have another try.
