Specs: Windows 7
How to remove java from my computer. I allowed Java to be updated into my computer and I want it off.

If all else fails (and it shouldn't) you could

1. Disable it from browsers like this:
"Control Panel > Java > Security tab" then uncheck box at top.

2. Try Revo uninstaller (freeware) on it:

I understand the freeware version is only suitable for 32 bit.
This uninstaller works on 64 bit too:

Are you sure it was actually Java? There are malware popups that claim to be java updates but they are not!

If you think it might be fake Java (as per #3) run this freebie on it and see what it finds:

Thanks everyone for your help. I finally got help with Microsoft. There was a virus connected to it. I will be so very careful for any updates again.

Good news but I would still run MalwareBytes on it (#4) because it might unearth and remove a few more baddies/
