Specs: Windows 7, 4 G
Win 7 is already installed but I want to reinstall to bring the registry to it's original value but when I put the CD into the drive after inspection it tells me your version is newer and cannot reinstall?

How to bypass this situation.

You must have SP1 installed. You could try removing SP1 from Control panel> Programs and features.

Or you can slipstream SP1 into your Windows 7 files and burn a new DVDR. The link below shows how to slipstream the SPack. It seems there are limitations and drawbacks to this process so I suggest you just remove SP1 and any updates to Windows 7. You should then be able to install from your disk. Perform all those operations while disconnected from the internet to limit exposure to any threats that are addressed by the updates/SP1.

I would have been helpful if you had provided specs on your system as requested when posting here.
