How to reinstall Drive D on HP Windows 7

Specs: Windows 7
I inadverently removed everything from Drive D, thinking it was my DVD drive. How can I restore it?

try recuva, its free and can usually recover all files unless you over wrote them
although your D drive may have been the hidden partition, you may also be able to recover the whole partition with recovermyfiles, try them both.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Thank you. Yes, the D Drive is the hidden partition to restore computer to original status if the system fails. I even formatted it, thinking it was my DVD drive as I was about to burn a DVD.... I will try your suggestions. Thank you!

PS MY main problem is that the D Drive does not consist of saved files, but hardware!!! MEA CULPA!

Do you have a set of restore disks, or didn't you make them? If you have restore disks then you don't need to worry about the restore partition. If you don't, then you may want to contact the manufacturer of your computer for a set of disks. You may need to pay something.

You will not be able to restore the hidden partition by recovering the deleted files.

PS Thanks to everyone who tried to help. I just spoke with HP and they are sending me a Restore/Recovery Disk! And the price was right!
