how to partition?

Specs: Windows 7, core to duel/Ram 1GB
in the operating system windows7 i have only one disk drive of 750GB.for the partitioning of this drive i shrinked that drive to 200GB but it the message is appearing that you have already more partitions and that 200GB hard disk went to unallocated i can get that unallocated space to use.

is there any partition hidden? From the eror message, it is seem like there are already four primary partitions or three primary partitions with a extended partition.
Please check if there were some partition that you have not assign the drive letter. If this still doesn't help , please refer to the article "how to create partition in windows 7"

Some systems like HP are shipped from the factory with 4 primary partitions. There is a boot partition, your operating system partition (C drive), your recovery partition, and your HP tools partition (or similar). The only practical way would be to order a recovery disk set from the system manufacturer, and make a Windows Repair Disk (from within Windows) so you will not need the last 2 partitions (at least you could live without them). When partitioning more than 3 partitions, the fourth one should be an extended partition so you could always put more than one logical drive on it, allowing you to 'divide' that last into more 'drives' if you ever need to.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
