Solved How to open a Briefcase in Windows 7 Professional?

Specs: Windows 7 Professional, 500G
I had a Briefcase set up between my machine an my external HDD. Since my HDD crashed, I don't seem to be able to open the briefcase on my ext HDD to retrieve the files -- instead I get an error message telling me that "some of the files were not copied" and then . . . nada. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Ron, system recovery is for repairing the operating system, it does nothing for other data nor does it do anything for external drives.

PJW, you might want to scan your drive for errors, you could also try recovery software like Recuvua.
