When you go to start area with the search type in cmd. What do you get?

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

Whitefish,
Is your command prompt not any more in Start menu?
When you right click your command.prompt on desktop, do you see an option "pin to startmenu" ?
I am not sure, but that could solve your problem.
Only programs have the option "pin to start menu"
Cheers Peter

Whitefish,
You could go to C:\ Windows\System32, then scroll down
to find cmd.exe, it should be there. I created a cmd.exe shortcut
to the desktop and use the command promp window from there.
If the cmd.exe is not in System32, then may someone else has
a better suggestion to solve your problem.
Cheers Peter
