how to make backup of hp laptop

Specs: Windows 7
i have purchase hp g42. i haven,t get any drivers dvd with the laptop there is a partition in my laptop name as recovery, and i have asked by the shopkeeper to make it's backup. but when i try for it he is making all system image of 90gb. while i have to make backup of only that recovery drive. so that i can recover to factory setting.......

Have a look under Start/All Programs & see if there's an item called Recovery Manager - in there you should find an option called Recovery Disk Creator - it's available on many HP/Compaq systems so you may be in luck.

HP supply a recovery partition which can be accessed by repeatedly pressing F10 at startup. you can use the app to repair/recover or to do a factory restore.
you do not need to backup the recovery drive, so long as you do not delete/format it.

you can also create a system image from the windows backup and restore center.of the whole drive to an external drive. that way you always have a copy of the whole drive including the recovery partition, you should also create a recovery cd.

Type in backup,. It will be the top choice.
