How to Make A Mirror Image As Back Up in Win7

May 4, 2011 at 02:16:43
Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 6 Gb DDR2 dual channel
I have an external enclosure with a few hard drives installed and id like to create a back up my PC hard drive into one of them.
Could anyone point to me where to go and read in point blank detail step by step how to:

1. Make a mirror image backup copy of the pc hard drive including partitions and the OS...
2. How to set it in such a way that I could save the eventual changes produced in that backed up copy by doing in future just an incremental back up each time (of only what has changed since the previous backup).

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I would appreciate any detailed explanation of the procedures.

Thank you kindly

I think you need to Image the drive. Easus Todo will image a drive, & I think you can do incremental backups as well.

Free version

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.

Use the Windows built in because you will have less trouble recovering after a a complete failure and reload on a new drive. It's completely compatible with the restore CD you should also make, and there is no need later to redownload the program to restore (especially a problem on the rare occasion if/when the company went out of business and you failed to notice).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
