How to install Windows XP on Windows 7

Specs: Windows XP
The system of my computer is Windows 7,I want to install windows XP ,I have been directly formatted an empty dish installed XP,But now I can enter XP system only.I didn't touch Win7 system disk,Whether to format XP system disk can enter the Win7,
Is there a way to install Windows XP on Win7?
should I need a Windows Xp key

Unless you use some type of virtual machine, it's almost never a good idea to load an older OS than the one you're currently using. You may have killed off your Win7 install if you truly did format as you stated. Unless you're going to use a virtual machine, the following may be of some help:

you can do 2 things, repair win 7, or download easybcd (its free), that should find your two os' and set them up.
by installing xp you have discarded the win boot, if you run a repair it will fix win7.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

You need to explain exactly what you did. The issue of needing a key is confusing because you shouldn't have been able to install WinXP without one. If you used a restore disk from a computer that had WinXP pre-installed say so. Did you install WinXP in a virtual mode?

You need to start your own thread here. Include all information about your machine like brand full model, what type of installation disks you are using, why you are doing what you are doing, etc.
